Vitamins are essential when it comes to what you need for the body to perform at it’s highest potential. There is no other way around it. Vitamins are given the name of vitamins because they are considered “vital minerals” VITA-MINS. We are perfectly designed by our maker to have to depend on the chemical compounds, elements and substances of nature to thrive as a species. Vitamins are so important to our well- being that certain medical conditions can occur without enough of a particular type of vitamin or vitamins. The Two Categories of Vitamins

Vitamins are broken down into 2 categories. Oil(Fat)-soluble(dissolves in oil) vitamins and water-soluble(dissolves in water) vitamins.

The Oil(Fat)-soluble vitamins are Vitamin A, D, E,and K. They can be dangerous at a high dose because they are stored in bodily fat, remain in the body too long and cause toxins (poison to the body). It’s the cause of hypervitaminosis (vitamin overload).

The water-soluble vitamins are Vitamin C and the B vitamins(B1,B2, B3, B4, B5, B6, B12, B13). These vitamins are not stored in the body can be easily damaged by cooking, exposure to air, and exposure to light. This is why the late great Bruce Lee recommended juicing with raw fruits and vegetables.

How You Should Maximize Your Vitamin Intake

Vitamins, made from plants and/or medicinal herbs are more active than processed synthetic vitamins. I’m not completely opposed of synthetic vitamins and minerals but I would HIGHLY recommend you to use much of your efforts in consuming fruits, vegetables, plants and herbs for your vitamin intake. Better to consume raw fruits and vegetables as cooking can eliminate the good nutrients you need for optimal health.

Consider synthetic vitamins as your last option because as I learned from Dr. Llaila Afrika, certified holistic health consultant and naturopath said that they can eventually drain the body of nutrients, alter pH and body chemistry, and have a negative effect on your health. Why? Because a majority of synthetic vitamins are made from harmful chemicals(coal tar), have additives, and addicting substances(caffine, white sugar) in them.

The reason I’m not fully opposed of synthetic vitamins is that in modern day, at the peak of GMO’s, pesticides, and the soil being more contaminated everywhere altogether, a large amount of plants and herbs that are grown aren’t as potent in vitamins and minerals as they once were decades ago when our grandparents were coming up. Before purchasing any synthetic vitamins, consult with your family physician and get blood work done to see if you have any deficiencies in any of the 13 essential vitamins.

All in all, after doing a body cleanse to rid the body of toxins, the next step in ensuring that your body is getting what it needs to perform the best it can, would be to get your proper amount of vitamins.
